It’s official. The Marq is a Winner!
Utah Construction & Design (UC&D) announced its 8th Annual Outstanding Projects of the Year winners for 2020. The competition honors the very best commercial construction and design projects in the State of Utah. The Marq is the recipient of the Most Outstanding Green/Sustainable Project.
The Marq is a 64-unit townhome community located in District 9 near downtown Salt Lake City. This innovative multi-family project features a clubhouse made from recycled shipping containers, a year-round pool, fire pit, EV charging station, bike maintenance station, dog wash, and parcel pickup lockers. The outdoor spaces were designed for walkability and gatherings with the creation of paseos (outdoor walkways) that function as backyards while preserving natural view corridors of the surrounding mountains and Salt Lake Valley.
The exterior architecture incorporates five-foot tall metal building numbers that wrap the corners of each building, as well as pergolas and unit numbers that are laser-cut out of metal panels. These and many other details give the project a modern, industrial vibe.
Congratulations to all the designers, architects, engineers, and contractors who made this project possible.
