About Pleasant Grove

Pleasant Grove is a small Utah city with a little over 38,000 residents. Established in 1855, the city is known as “Utah’s City of Trees” because its first settlers were attracted to a grove of trees in the area. It’s conveniently located a half-hour from Salt Lake City and spans over 9 square miles. There are two trailheads, along with 17 miles of paved trail adjacent to a dirt path, that connect seven communities. Perfect for equestrian use, the Murdock Canal Trail is marked every quarter mile and has facilities and water available about every three miles.

The city has established a beautification commission to assure residents are involved in keeping the community beautiful. However, the city is most known for hosting the longest continually running rodeo in Utah history. Even though the original strawberry farms are long gone, Strawberry Days has remained an iconic event over the last 100 years. It is marked by several days of festivities that include the best rodeo in the west, parades, concerts, carnival, and a plethora of activities and contests for kids of all ages.
